About this piece

The piece that takes us longest. The body is raised and planished from a single copper sheet, so the hammer marks are a record of how it was made rather than a texture stamped on afterwards. The spout is drawn out slowly to give a thin, steady stream you can actually aim, and the handle and lid knob are turned from untreated marri and left bare — no lacquer to fog or peel. Copper will darken with use. If you want it bright again, a cut lemon and a pinch of salt is all it takes.

Materials
1.2 mm copper, food-safe tin lining, turned marri timber handle and knob
Dimensions
215 mm high including handle × 145 mm diameter, 900 ml working capacity
Care
Hand wash and dry immediately. Suits gas and electric elements; not induction. Never put it in the dishwasher — the timber will not survive it.
