Terms of sale
These terms show how a small Australian retailer would set out the deal between shop and customer. Kelp & Copper is a fictional organisation and no orders are processed on this site.
Placing an order
Adding an item to the cart is not an order. An order is placed when you complete checkout, and it is accepted when we send an order confirmation email. If a piece sells out between your order and our confirmation — which happens with a small kiln — we would tell you and refund that line in full.
Prices and GST
All prices are in Australian dollars and include GST. The price you see on the product page is the price charged. Shipping is added at checkout and shown before payment: free over $150, otherwise $12 flat within Australia and $18 to Western Australian regional areas and the Northern Territory.
A tax invoice would be issued with every order. We do not ship outside Australia, so no duties or import taxes arise.
Payment
A live version of this shop would take card payment through a payment provider at the time the order is placed. Card details would be entered on the provider's secure form and would never be stored by us.
This demonstration site takes no payment at all. The card field accepts only the obvious test number shown on the page and refuses anything else, and nothing you type is transmitted or stored.
Cancellation and changes
Orders can be changed or cancelled at no cost any time before dispatch — usually a window of one to two business days. After dispatch, a cancellation becomes a change-of-mind return, and the returns terms on the shipping and returns page apply.
We may cancel an order and refund it in full if an item is damaged in the workshop, if a price has been listed in obvious error, or if we cannot deliver to the address given.
Made by hand
Glaze colour, speckling and dimensions vary slightly between firings, and copper darkens with use. Variation of that kind is a characteristic of the work, not a fault. Anything that arrives chipped, cracked or not as described is a different matter — tell us and we will replace or refund it.
Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies the consumer guarantees that apply under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 to the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)). Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
These rights sit alongside, and are separate from, the change-of-mind policy we offer as a courtesy.
Governing law
These terms would be governed by the laws of Western Australia. Contact: hello@example.com.au, (08) 9123 4567, 12 Example Street, Fremantle WA 6160 (example data for this demo).
