About this piece

Thrown tall and pulled in hard at the neck so a couple of stems stand up on their own instead of splaying. The chalky matte glaze is poured rather than dipped, which leaves an uneven tide line where it stops above the raw clay base. We only run these twice a year because the tall form takes up the whole kiln shelf and we would rather fill it with mugs most of the time. Watertight, but a small run means the glaze varies more than on our everyday pieces.

Materials
Speckled stoneware, poured chalk matte glaze, unglazed base
Dimensions
285 mm high × 105 mm diameter at the belly, 42 mm neck opening
Care
Hand wash. Empty and dry between uses. Not dishwasher safe — the poured glaze edge will dull.
